Bachelor of Arts in Therapeutic Psychology
Improve the wellbeing of others, and take the first step towards building a rewarding career in psychology or therapy, by studying our BA Therapeutic Psychology at Roehampton. The course combines our well-established strengths in counselling, psychology, and arts and play therapies. It is ideal for students who want to work in the helping professions, without becoming a chartered psychologist. Working with leading psychology and counselling experts and practitioners, who bring their real-life experience into the classroom, you will develop a range of skills designed to broaden your theoretical understanding of the mind, and build your practical experience and your own development. This well-rounded learning approach, alongside voluntary work experience, will give you a strong foundation for a career in therapy or further education at postgraduate level. We offer modules to give you excellent, first-hand counselling experience. In Introduction to the Arts and Play Therapies, you will explore how the therapeutic relationship can be mediated through an art form, and how to deliver therapy through play for a range of people. In Practice of Counselling Skills, you will develop your counselling and communication skills through practical and written exercises and presentations; and in Psychology in Action, you will design your own research project, to explore the role evidence plays in psychological research. - see more at: https://www.roehampton.ac.uk/undergraduate-courses/therapeutic-psychology/
