Online Bachelor of Science in Sociology
The Bachelor of Science in Sociology offered online through Arizona State University studies social life, social change and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. As part of the School of Social and Family Dynamics, you will be provided with an excellent liberal arts education that enables you to develop strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills.
The Bachelor of Science in Sociology offers you a variety of courses on both contemporary social issues and traditional social institutions. These courses cover such topics as courtship and marriage, the family, social change, the impact of technology on society, the globalization of work, deviance, social networking, population characteristics, and the politics of race, ethnicity, religion, gender and health in today's society. Through this broad range of courses and learning opportunities you will develop proficiency in written communication, statistics and research methods.
As a Sociology student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you will also be required to complete two Science and Society courses, which include courses such as Introduction to Global Health, Technology and Society, and Women and Health.
