Undergraduate Student Learning Outcomes

By obtaining B.S. degrees from the Department of Geological Sciences, students will:

1. Understand fundamental geologic terms and concepts.
2. Apply principles of geology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics to solve earth science problems.
3. Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative data.
4. Collect, analyze, and interpret spatial data.
5. Communicate scientific observations and interpretations through writing, figures, graphs, maps, and cross-sections.
