Fashion Design and Merchandising
The Fashion Program prepares the student for entry-level design, product development, and merchandising positions at both manufacturing and retail levels.
The full two-year curriculum may be completed in both day and evening courses. Specific coursework for the design certificate covers apparel construction, pattern making, illustration, production, computer-generated design, textiles, industrial equipment, and the study of historic costume. The fashion merchandising major is an interdisciplinary one shared with the business department and prepares the student for employment in buying, visual merchandising, product development, e-commerce, and retail management.
