Political Science
The Political Science department at Chabot College is dedicated to fostering a broad understanding of local, national, and international political systems and social scientific methods, encouraging active civic engagement, and heightening student awareness of the complex and diverse global connections that define today's world.
The Political Science department offers a variety of courses in political science ranging from the core course, Introduction to American Government, to courses in Comparative Government, International Relations, and Contemporary Issues in American Politics. All courses are transferable to CSU (and most to UC), and all meet GE breadth requirements for the associate degree and for transfer. The American Government course helps satisfy the CSU American Institutions requirement.
