Sports Marketing Management
This was the first sports marketing degree launched in the UK and has been developed in conjunction with practitioners from the sports marketing industry, who are also involved as expert guest lecturers, enabling you to learn from their professional experience and industry knowledge. Through this degree, you can develop the skills and knowledge to devise, plan and co-ordinate marketing activities for the sports sector. An important part of the course is the understanding of the unique features of marketing in a sports environment and you will be introduced to areas such as brand management, licensing and maximising commercial potential. Many assignments have a practical focus and you may be asked to develop innovative approaches to challenges such as developing a sustainable fan base for a sports club or attracting a media partner for a new venue. We also work with you to develop your creativity so that you can devise memorable marketing campaigns. This course offers an optional four year route, where you may spend your third year working in industry or studying abroad before returning for your final year.
