Liberal Studies
The best preparation for those who prepare the next generation.
Students majoring in Liberal Studies take courses in all areas of humanities, arts, sciences, and social sciences. The B.A. degree in Liberal Studies is excellent preparation for a career in teaching, and most majors go on to credential programs for K-8 multiple subject classrooms in California. However, there is also a non-credential track for students who want a liberal arts degree without specialization in a specific discipline.
Within the Liberal Studies program, students can choose from a number of different options, including:
- Traditional Credential Track
- Integrated Blended Credential Program (IBEST)
- Integrated Special Education Program (ISPED)
- Introductory Majors (for students seeking Subject Matter Authorization in Mathematics, English, or Science)
- Non-Credential Track
