We designed our Financial Services Degree program to help you develop the technical skills and background to succeed in banking, investment management, financial planning, and insurance. Financial services courses
The basic courses will help you develop a strong understanding of business law, business ethics, and economic theory. You’ll take courses specific to the financial services industry, including Insurance Licensing, Principles of Banking, Financial Securities, Fundamentals of Selling, and Investments. You’ll also participate in an externship that provides you with an opportunity to work in your chosen field under the supervision and evaluation of a cooperating business.

Financial services is a broad industry and offers a lot of opportunity for a qualified professional with the right skill sets. The ability to analyze data and communicate complicated financial information to people who are unlikely to share your expertise is essential. The Financial Services program helps you develop technical skills, you’ll also sharpen attention to detail, organizational and decision-making skills, as well as written and oral communication skills. The program is designed to help you prepare for the Series 6 and 63 licensing exams as well as the New York State licensing exam in life, accident, and health insurance.
