To provide opportunities to the needs of a large number of G.C.E (A.L.) qualified students who are deprived of pursuing their higher studies at our National Universities.
To provide quality teaching at affordable cost within a conducive environment so that both young and adult working students are given the opportunity of upgrading their careers in their chosen fields or in new ones with recognized, quality academic certification second to none awarded under University Grants Commission approval.
Specially designed and scheduled for the convenience of working crowd and also those who are willing to follow a Degree Programme in Arts Stream.
- Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) General 3 year Degree programme with semester based academic calendar.
- University Grants Commission’s (UGC) approval granted in December 2004 and Gazetted by the Government of Sri Lanka in October 2005.
- First and inaugural intake for the first batch of students was done in March 2009 with 77 students in both Sinhala & English media. (Sinhala 40 & English 37)
- Subjects offered at present are – English Literature, Sinhala Literature, Sociology, Economics, Mass Communication and Christian Culture.
- Ancillary subjects such as English & Computer Literacy will supplement the study programme to empower the undergraduates for employment/career.
- Modern day pedagogical approach with learner oriented teaching methods are being introduced.
- Assessment done with semester based written exams plus assignments/projects/presentations carrying part of the total marks in each semester and carried forward with a grading system.
