By combining the complementary subjects of Scottish Cultural Studies and Scottish History, this new joint degree will cover all aspects of Scottish life, culture and history from early history through to the modern day. It will explore language, literature, history, culture and much more, focussing on the Highlands and Islands, but including much of Scotland throughout the course.
You will study both disciplines based in the Highlands and Islands, yet with an international approach that will prepare you for life beyond university. As you progress through the course you will choose from a combination of modules, equally balanced between Scottish Cultural Studies and Scottish History.
You will have the opportunity to participate in an optional museum placement as part of the degree, as well as possible volunteering positions across the Highlands.
