American Sign Language
The ASL program prepares students for entry-level employment as translators or interpreting, and to pursue degrees in ASL and Deaf Studies. ASL is a non-verbal, highly visual, language course.
Employment Opportunities in ASL
ASL is in high demand, not only in response to the Americans with Disabilities Act, but also due to the growth in the Deaf community in the US. ASL interpreters and translators are in high demand in education, the court system, hospitals, social work, law enforcement, the medical and health professions, business, customer service, and many other careers where contact with the Deaf community is a must.
