CRM Training
CRM includes a range of knowledge, skills and attitudes including communications, situational awareness, problem solving, decision-making, and teamwork. CRM is concerned less with technical knowledge and skills, but rather with the cognitive and interpersonal skills needed to manage flight safety within the aviation system. Cognitive skills include situational awareness, problem solving and decision-making. Interpersonal skills include communications and teamwork. These skills often overlap each other, and they overlap with technical skills.
CRM training also extends to the concept of Threat and Error Management (TEM). TEM proposes that threats, errors and Undesirable Aircraft State (UAS) are everyday events that flight crews must manage to maintain safety. TEM training develops skills in recognising and managing potential threats and errors.
