The Renewable Energy Major is a five year program that aims to provide graduates with good knowledge on state-of-the-art techniques for generating green energy, such as solar cells, wind energy, biofuel, biomass, and natural gas.
During the first and second years of study, students are provided with a strong foundation in fundamental sciences. In addition, the program exposes students to multidisciplinary courses that broaden their background in materials science, nano and micro-fabrication techniques, solid state physics and circuit design. Together, these courses will provide a strong theoretical background enabling students to devise a range of innovative approaches to generating efficient and clean energy.
All courses were designed to have a practical (laboratory) component. Graduation projects are selected from practical cases that can be developed using the advanced facilities available at the City’s Research Centers. Accordingly, all graduates are qualified in a way that will enable them to develop novel techniques for generating energy, and consequently, opening new horizons for industry.
