The Nanotechnology Engineering Program is an interdisciplinary program sharing a common foundation with all programs delivered at The University of Science and Technology during the first two years of study. This foundation guarantees that all students will come to master basic sciences. Nanotechnology engineering students are also introduced to materials science.
Beginning from the third year, students will focus on specific areas of nanotechnology such as, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, nanosystems and nanoconstruction. These sub-disciplines were carefully chosen to align with the activities of the Institute for Nanoscience and Informatics (INI). During the third year, all sub-disciplines will rigorously cover the essential background for nanotechnology, including nanofabrication techniques, material characterization, finite element analysis and quantum mechanics.
During the fourth and fifth year, students take specialized courses according to their discipline. All students will have access to the INI’s advanced research facility, and accordingly, will gain unique research experience in their field.
