The fundamental mission of the Sports Sciences Program is to graduate sports trainers or managers who have mastered the basics of fitness and recreation, the interaction between health and sports, the psychological and social aspect of sports as well as the scientific basis for sports and physical activity. The program also aims to bring up qualified sports professionals who will achieve scientific and sports-related success at the national and international level with the help of their professional and moral ethics, research and communication skills.
General Information About the Program
The program aims to bring up inquisitive, modern, and supportive sports professionals who are well-equipped with information regarding various sports branches as well as various aspects of sports such as biology, health sciences, behavioral sciences, educational sciences, management and organization.
Education
The Sports Sciences Program is delivered in a modern and student-centered environment with a highly developed infrastructure and up-to-date facilities. Our program receives professional academic support from prominent academicians at various institutions in Turkey. The program has been designed in such a way that elements such as analyzing, tackling problems, reaching conclusions, thinking creatively and critically, working in a team and communicating effectively have been integrated with the course content.
Facilities
Students of the Sports Sciences Program benefit from laboratories equipped with modern equipment at world standards. Each laboratory has been designed to provide opportunities for approximately 50 students to receive instruction at the same time. Our University provides sufficient number of computers with Internet connections for students. Students are also given the privilege of benefitting from the Eastern Mediterranean University Library which is equipped with modern facilities, equipment and databases. Our University also provides an array of recreational opportunities for our students in the form of social, cultural and sports activities.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the program may pursue employment opportunities as “Sports Experts, Sports Trainers, Sports Managers and Sports Animators”. Following is a list of career areas for our graduates:
