Job board Trends 2015 Rewind Jul 13, 2015 Job Board Industry is just getting the right momentum at the moment for 2015 though it was difficult to recover after the financial events of 2008. But since 2011, things are merrier, and Industry is prospering at a growth rate of 20%, a perfect reason to continue. Recently, I was asked by my Boss @Rchilli to prepare a report on the current state of affairs of Jobboard Industry, for which I thought, would be helpful for anyone in staffing and recruiting business. Here are the snapshots from the recent report: 1 Eighty percent of the job boards industry considers the quality as most critical for the employers. 2 Candidate experience next in the row to ensure unique visitors per month on the website. 3 On an average 51-100 jobs per month posted on any given job board sites. 4 The highest number of applications received for any jobs were between 2-4 for 18 percent of the total job boards. 5 The biggest change in different elements of a job board would be in marketing, technology and staffing side of the business. 6 More than 41 percent of the web site traffic comes from Mobile (sea-change). 7 The industry seems to be suffering from positive sentiments about the opportunities coming forward in 2015. 8 The biggest challenge majority of job boards foresee, New and Old competitors coming with new capabilities. 9 The best estimate of revenues for future months lies between $100,000 or less. 10 Indeed remains the biggest threat to job boards followed by linkedIn and niche sites. So what we can do about them? Not to worry! Survey comes with some key actionable steps if implemented right can bring sure-shot success to many old as well as new job boards in progress. Here are the takeaways: 1 Make your CV database easily searchable to Employers. Try Semantic Search for instance to improve search results. 2 Add Social Media Features to your job board as 40 percent are already planning to do so. Why stay behind? Try Social Profile Search instead. 3 Having a mobile-friendly version of your site on app remains the key to candidate engagement that job seekers enticingly vouch for. They just love it. In just a few clicks, they apply to preferred or saved jobs. 4 Focus all your efforts on enhancing Quality of applicants first and then maintaining quality with competitive pricing that will help job boards position themselves. 5 Try using Aggregator for the next 12-24 months to stay ahead in the game. Try cross posting your jobs to aggregator site. The rest, stick to your niche and build services around it. Be it healthcare, social work, dentists, sports, agriculture ------ every Industry welcomes space for highly skilled and targeted individuals and that is what employers pay for, isn’t it?
