European Studies is the study of European politics, society and culture. It gives us an understanding of the broad historical, social, political and cultural forces that have shaped contemporary Europe and offer us the opportunity to engage with debates about its future.
With a Masters in European Studies at Chuo University you will typically have, your first year, done an Introduction to European Studies, an Introduction to European Cinema, an Introduction to European Cultural Studies and an Introduction to the European Union. Further study will have looked at topics such as Europe in the World; the World in Europe, The EU, European Cinema, European Thought, Writing and Society and The European Union in the World System.
masters students: You will have engaged in advanced study in such topics as Energy and Environmental Security in Europe, European Political Integration, Human Rights in Europe, Law and Citizenship in the EU, Political Parties and Party Systems,The International Relations of the EU and The Political Economy of EU Enlargement.
