You will also have typically looked atapplied mathematics - probability and statistics with a concentration on mathematics and the underlying processes that involve randomness and the mathematical tools used in the analysis of data.
masters students: You will typically have completed a Master’s in applied mathematics involving the use of analytical and computational mathematics to solve problems in the real world, based on modelling, analysis and scientific computing, and engaged in a multidisciplinary mathematics project directly related to the life sciences, physical sciences and engineering, and received training in the tools of applied mathematics, including ordinary and partial differential equations, asymptotic and perturbation methods, numerical analysis and scientific computing.
