Nursing Major
Prepare to Provide Holistic Healthcare with APU's Nursing Major
APU’s nursing major equips students to provide effective, compassionate health care. The program provides a solid foundation in nursing care for individuals, families, communities, and people groups across the lifespan and in a wide variety of environments. Students take part in multiple clinical experiences at leading research-based centers, teaching hospitals, and other community health centers throughout the curriculum, beginning with the first nursing course.
The School of Nursing offers two BSN program options: the Traditional option and the Upper-Division Transfer option.
Nursing majors also have access to state-of-the-art technology, such as simulators and virtual patients. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible for public health certification.
Throughout the nursing degree, students are encouraged to examine the intersection of the Christian faith and their nursing career, their personal spiritual growth, and the concept of spiritual care. Nursing majors leave APU with excellent skills necessary to positively impact their patients' lives.
