Health and Safety Sciences: Emergency Medical Technology
The Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) course is 5.5 units and meets for approximately 8.5 hours weekly. Students who enroll in the course must be 18 years of age. The course is approved by the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency.
Students will be required to have a negative TB test or chest x-ray before they can participate in ambulance and hospital experiences. In addition, some hospitals may require a background check, physical exam and proof of immunization to childhood diseases and Hepatitis B.
