An advanced degree course provides a solid foundation for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge of African Studies before working for NGOs, in public service, international organizations, and the media, or in other professional capacities. It will cover key questions and debates in the study of issues such as the African state, conflict and violence, diaspora and development. Your dissertation will include discussion of the methodology, historiography, or theory relevant to the research topic, and will usually be based on original research conducted in Africa.
