Master's of Science in Biology
The available programs in these degrees cover a wide spectrum of biology and include both laboratory and field study. These degrees require a thesis based on original scientific research; a list of research areas with the names of faculty specializing in these areas can be obtained from the Department's Graduate Office. They are meant for qualified students preparing for professional careers in industry and government and for further studies at the doctoral level. In addition, a M.S. degree, combined with appropriate courses in education, can be utilized for a community college teaching credential.
