Child Development Permits
The Early Childhood Education Program at Biola University’s School of Education offers state-approved coursework required for five of California’s Child Development Permits: Assistant Teacher, Associate Teacher, Teacher, Master Teacher, and Site Supervisor. Coursework for these permits can be completed either on-campus or online. Early Childhood Education coursework can be added to any major, and the School of Education offers an Early Childhood concentration within the context of a Liberal Studies, Elementary Education, major. Students can also choose to add the School-Age Emphasis Authorization to their permits, allowing them to provide services in the care, development, and instruction of children in before school, after school, and other school-age child care programs.
Upon completion of required Early Childhood coursework and any other applicable requirements, candidates will be eligible to apply for their applicable permit directly to the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing with Biola University’s formal recommendation.
