Early Childhood Studies
The Early Childhood Studies Program provides you with theoretical and practical understanding of child development from infancy through adolescence. You will gain in-class and lab experience observing children, and have opportunities to design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with children through the age of twelve.
As part of your training you will have the opportunity to provide childcare services in a learning environment to the Allan Hancock College community of students, staff, and faculty. Our program operates one state-licensed lab school for young children, which is utilized for student observations and practicums. Our year-round Children’s Center Lab School is a full day child care facility, serving children ages 3 months to 5 years old.
