Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry (by research)
PROGRAMME BRIEF
The Chemistry Group offers Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry (by research) programme in areas such as analytical and environmental chemistry, organometallic and green chemistry, natural products and synthetic organic chemistry, catalysis and surface chemistry, electrochemistry. Postgraduate students undertake part time or full-time research in a project supervised by one or more academic staff who is/are expert(s) in the field. The expectation is that postgraduate students will publish their research in top-tier, international chemistry journals. The Chemistry group is ably equipped with modern scientific instrumentation to achieve this outcome including high-field NMR, GC-MS, HPLC, UV-Vis spectrometers, AAS,Voltammetric Analyzers etc.
DURATION OF STUDY
Full time: 36-60 months
Part time: 48-84 months
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Master's degree in science or engineering or in a relevant area from a recognised university;
• Applicants whose native tongue is not English should submit evidence of English proficiency (minimum score of 550 for TOEFL, 6.0 for IELTS, credit 6 in GCE 'O' Level Examination or grade C in IGSCE English as a second language)
