You will have received with a Masters
at the University of Berne
a solid foundation in the study of astronomy, including the sun, the solar system, the stars, the Milky Way, the galaxies and cosmology with active participation in all phases of observational astronomical research. The course will also include the area of astrophysics involving the investigation of binary stars and black hole binaries, novae and supernovae in other galaxies, plus active research programs on star clusters and stellar collision.
masters students: Graduate research programs in observations and theory include the following areas: astrobiology and extrasolar planets, stellar atmospheres and interiors, interplanetary dust and comets, interacting binary stars, stellar evolution and populations, interstellar matter and nebulae, computational astrophysics and data mining, compact objects such as galaxies and quasars, large scale structure and cosmology, and dark matter and energy.
