The BSc. Information Technology is a degree programme from the University College of the Caribbean (UCC) which will provide participants with an understanding of how information technology works and how it can be applied to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organisation.
The BSc. Information Technology course aims to develop graduates who have a broad range of skills in the IT areas, and who can apply IT successfully to organizations.
The degree has been designed for those wanting to work in a wide variety of ‘technical’ positions as designers, programmers, technical directors, etc. The Upper Level of the B.Sc. in Information Technology builds on the solid foundation provided by the ASc. In MIS. It produces IT professionals who are capable of applying their broad knowledge of information technologies and business issues to the design of integrated systems including networks, databases and websites in order to solve organizational challenges. Graduates of the programme are ready for employment as IT Managers, Project Managers, Database Administrators, Network Security Specialists, or Systems Analysts. Students will also be expected to undertake an IT-related project in their final year.
Graduates of this programme will be able to assume responsibilities in virtually every sector of industry and commerce. Furthermore, graduates will be able to become fully-qualified practitioners in the IT field.

UCC is a tertiary institute registered by the University Council of Jamaica, the official local accrediting body for tertiary education.
