The mission of the M.S. in Economics program is to educate graduate students first and foremost as economists capable of doing research in the field of economics rather than specialists in narrowly defined areas of study, provide education in micro- and macroeconomic theories, the development of a toolkit of mathematical and econometric techniques that allows the student to think critically about how to approach the analysis of economic problems.
Applicants are expected to satisfy general admission requirements of the Institute. In general, students who wish to pursue a given graduate program in the Faculty of Business and Economics, but have completed a BA/BS in another field may be admitted to the program, subject to successfully completing selected prerequisite courses from the related department.
