you will have received a solid grounding in such areas as crystallography and mineralogy, stratigraphy, palaeontology, geological maps and surveying, field work skills, skills in geological data collection. You will also have developed your skills in sedimentology, igneous and metamorphic petrology and structural geology.
masters students: You will typically have engaged in advanced research in such areas as basin analysis, computer-assisted image analysis, contaminant transport, crustal seismology, seismic hazard studies, environmental earth sciences, exploration geophysics, glacial geology, mineral deposits, mineral chemistry & physics, materials science and paleontology.
