 MA: Teaching International Language (TIL) (Minor)

The MA in Teaching International Languages is a 36-unit interdisciplinary program that promotes the student of languages and cultures as an integral part of a world-class education in a global society. Designed to develop knowledgeable, reflective, inquiry-oriented professionals, the program focuses on teaching foreign languages and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). It is ideal for educators interested in National Board Certification in these areas. Course work emphasizes linguistic, cultural, and educational theory and research related to foreign and second languages and their application to the effective teaching and learning of international languages. The program prepares professionals for a broad spectrum of cultural contexts and instructional settings in the United States and abroad.
